Evaluación: - Not Only the Best Concise Spanish-English/English-Spanish Dictionary
I use this edition myself. It's not only the best of the so-called "concise" dictionaries (in my opinion, nearly 1,300 pages is hardly "concise"), but it rivals in range and usefulness the most exhaustive of the larger, hardcover volumes. It's true that the larger, hard-to-handle book obviously contains more words and definitions, but I look at it this way: How often do you need to consult a larger book? I keep Larousse on my desk. At the moment, I'm preparing a Spanish version of my new translation of Mark's Gospel in More Bible Wisdom for Modern Times: Selections from the Early New Testament. Right now, I'm up to Chapter 12 and not once have I been forced to leave my desk and search a larger book for a more suitable word. Admittedly, Mark's vocabulary is pretty basic (and I have reflected this simplicity in my translation), but, if anything, that makes this Larousse even more useful, as it forces me to resist any temptations to use a less familiar or more picturesque vocabulary.

Evaluación: - Wait for the second edition
This text seems very popular and is useful for a cursory introduction to an extremely complex concept. It is "hybrid" between a course on neuroanatomy and classroom application. Perhaps more anatomy than many classroom teachers need and a bit watered down for the serious student.

The pages of classroom suggestions are good for those who continue reading until they get to those sections.

My suggestion is to wait until the second edition comes out and get the updated version. The information in the area of neuroeducation is developing very rapidly and even though the book is only five years old, it has fallen behind the research findings.

This review workbook is written entirely in English, except for the exercises which of course are in Spanish. If you are a native English speaker learning Spanish, this book does a great job of explaining rules, and perhaps not just as review. There are a TON of exercises for each section, so if you need a lot of repetitions this is the book for you.

Evaluación: - Same Content as Ultimate Spanish Review & Practice
This is an excellent workbook, but it is nearly impossible to find a copy of the answer key. As of the date I'm writing this, the only used copy here on Amazon is listed for $999.00 (seriously), and the publisher will only ship to school addresses. Bummer, because without answers this workbook loses a lot of its potential value for independent learners.

The good news is that the content of this edition of this workbook (ISBN: 9780844274126) appears to be exactly the same as the content of Ultimate Spanish Review & Practice (ISBN: 9780071492409), which has answers to all of the exercises in the back of the book. I haven't checked every single page, but I randomly compared about 10 different pages in different chapters (for example, Chapter 3: Exercise N) and these books are the same. The only difference is that the workbook has space for writing answers to each exercise right in the book, while USR&P does not. Of course, this also means USR&P is smaller and easier to tote ... This is the 2001 edition of Repaso, whose answer key is impossible to find anywhere. Avoid this edition!

You want to buy the 2004 edition instead: Repaso: A Review Workbook for Grammar, Communication, and Culture (Spanish Edition).

And then you want the 2004 edition's answer key with ISBN 0078607086: Repaso A Review Workbook for Grammar, Communication, and Culture ANSWER KEY which is easy to find.

Evaluación: - A Nice Tool...
Let me start by saying this is a wonderful tool for practicing/remembering your Spanish Grammar. It's huge and has tons of practice problems. It explains pretty much everything (grammar related) that you are likely to need in your Spanish studies--it's very comprehensive. You would have to dig very hard into advanced material to find topics not covered here. It will keep you busy for a very long time, and it's great to go back to every once in a while for reviewing `rusty' concepts. It's one of the few Spanish learning aids that I have kept after going through it. I'm now going through it once again (several years after doing it the first time around). It also has nice cultural notes in Spanish and vocabulary lists of useful words, verbs, and other parts of speech.

This book has a separate answer booklet (sold separately). In my opinion, this is a good thing (other than the extra expense) because the book is quite thick and heavy. It's nice not to have to flip back and forth ... Leer Más

Clearly the guy that wrote about exercising being the only method of losing weight as never tried this book. Its not a diet, but a complete life style change. I have only been on it for a week so I am still in the strict phase, but I have already lost 6 pounds. I feel better about myself and I have more energy. If you are serious about getting healthy, I highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this book because I used to get it from the local library whenever I needed to do a medical interpretation. I finally decided to order it from Amazon so I don't have to head to the library whenever I get an interpretation assignment. This is a pocket-size book, but it has a wealth of terms that you can actually use if you're an English-Spanish interpreter, translator, a health professional or student, practicing or studying in the U.S., whose first language is Spanish, or an English-speaking health professional who sees Spanish-speaking patients. It is very handy whenever I come across a term that doesn't come to mind immediately or that I need to double-check.

I have been teaching Medical Spanish and Cultural Competency CME courses for over 20 years and cannot praise Glenn T Rogers, MD's English -Spanish/Spanish-English Medical Dictionary enough.
It is an excellent resource and the best Medical Spanish dictionary I have found throughout my entire teaching career, which is why I highly recommend it to anyone in the Health Care profession as well as to all Medical Spanish Instructors.
This third edition is extremely comprehensive and covers nearly every term my students have looked up in class, as well as those that I've always wanted to know. It is also most impressive in that Dr. Rogers includes many diverse and varied translations based on region and country, which affords one the opportunity to know which word or phrase to use depending on where ones' patient is from.
This dictionary entailed a great deal of research and is extremely accurate, not to mention thoroughly outstanding!

I am a General Surgeon and lead a team of volunteers every year to work in Guatemala. I have bought copies of this book for all members of our team. It has concise, appropiate and complete entries for the clinical situations we encounter on a regular basis. No other dictionary that we have tried over the years comes close to the utility of this one. Other larger and more expensive dictionaries such as Mosby's (approximately $275 on Amazon) are not as comprehensive when it comes to the phrases and vocabulary necessary to communicate in a clinical setting. This little book is a gem and I recommend it highly.

I love how compact this dictionary is and how easy it is to carry around. It's loaded with definitions and tons of health related terms. Most importantly, I don't feel like I've sacrificed quality for size. It also contains 14 pages of human anatomy illustrations and 1 page of useful questions for interviewing patients. If you interact with Spanish speaking patients, this is an amazing reference book you shouldn't hesitate to buy.

BEFORE YOU BUY IT, realize that this book contains medical spanish ONLY. I purchased this little book for my month-long rotation in Peru as a medical student. It is a very extensive collection of spanish/english medical terms, BUT it does not contain any other words in spanish you might want to know! It contains very few verbs. This was frustrating to me and I found myself more often using my "general" spanish/english dictionary instead. I recommend this book only if you already speak spanish fairly well and simply need to expand your medical vocabulary, or if you are planning to supplement it with another "general" spanish/english dictionary.

I've been hunting down products to help me with medical Spanish in my career, and this one is by far the most useful on a daily basis. The size is perfect--it seems to be a very thorough, inclusive dictionary but is still a great size to stick in my pocket. I actually keep it in my purse to study when I'm waiting in lines. It also has several body outlines with names labeled in both English and Spanish. Overall, great product!

If you're looking for a bilingual dictionary with medical terms in Spanish, this is an excellent and useful book. Knowing some Spanish and assisting Spanish speakers at a local clinic one summer, this dictionary was very helpful.

English to Spanish, and Spanish to English. It even has diagrams of the body, facial features, bone structure, and the different systems. Although it shows the reproductive organs, there is no maternal diagrams (or any with a baby).

For people starting Spanish, I suggest a beginner's dictionary first. Some words and slang you may not use in a hospital may not be listed. But words such as spider, gunshot, and house are translated (since someone could have a bug-bite or bullet wound).
This is great to look at.

I highly recommend this to those using Spanish in a Medical field. Doctors that don't know Spanish may still find it useful.
It's small enough to fit in your purse (or a large pocket).

Muchas personas no saben lo qué es la codependencia. El libro nos ayuda comprender los efectos de la dysfunción en la familia. Hay una solución en buscar la recuperación.
Me gusta la manera que está escrito, no es un manual profesional que es muy complicado. Es un libro que se usa palablas sencillas, conceptos básicas, y explica en una forma que todos puedan entender.
Por eso, es mi opinión que el libro es muy importante para personas buscando como mejorarse. También, es un libro para pastores, misioneros, profesores, trabajadores sociales y personas que quieren ayudar a los otros salir de sus relaciones enfermas.
Tenemos una cultura con tantos problemas, adicciones y enfermedades mentales, que debemos buscar la solución.

In this wonderful book, Melody Beattie provides the reader with the necessary tools to overcome the burden of codependency. Although it gives examples to help the families of alcoholics, the book stresses that any addiction and its effects can be overcomed if we only recognize the reasons the behaviors were developed in the first place. I was sexually molested as a child and, as a result, two major consecuences appeared: I was subconsciously trying to destroy my body and so became clinically overweight, and I wanted to control those around me and make sure they did not ruin their lives with what I viewed as the wrong choices. I did not understand why, if my brain knew that I should take care of my body, and if I had dreams to lead a full, active life, I was "killing" myself. Realmente estaba tras este libro hasta que lo consegui por" Amazon" mi libreria favorita, pues consigo siempre lo que quiero, a tiempo y buen precio. Y en Espanol!!!!! pues vivo en USA.

Me encanto la historia, en momentos hasta la senti parte de mi vida, pues en algunas cosas coincidimos.

Senti que Isabel Allende impregno este libro de amor, cuidado y carino. Mismo que sintio por su querida hija "Paula" quien por su descripcion, edad y fotografia, se me asemeja mucho a mi hija Bertita. GD ella sigue con nosotros.

I have to admit that the book took me awhile to love, but then I became totally involved. About the last 100 pages held my attention more than anything. This is a remarkable journey, and one that will haunt me for years to come. Some of the historical references were interesting, but often times took away from the poignancy of the novel.
